Slavery

There has been a great debate for many years on why slavery and Africans have been related. Was it due to racism or initially for economic purposes? Some feel that Europeans and other white people have always discriminated against black people due to there race. But in early America, blacks and whites worked together at equal levels. But as time went on, the growing agriculture demanded more labor, and enslaved Africans were an easy way to get labor and make the most profit. White indentured servants were an option, but they came not planning to stay more than a couple years and were dependent on the farmer they worked for. Where as Africans came in greater numbers, were able to be worked harder, and had no strings attached. They were simply the best way to make more of a profit, and as time went on, this led to racism. The farmers were given a work force, and a reason to say it was the Christian way and not inhumane.
