Watergate

Like all issues and historic events that remain controversial, everyone has their own opinion and way to describe why they are correct. Watergate is no exception, Many people have added their input and all have valid reason to believe they are correct. What they all share in common is the fact that Nixon was under great pressure. He had to deal with the Vietnam war and make the citizens of the U.S. believe that he was doing what they wanted. Achieving all these tasks was not easy, and Nixon was often able to cut corners and achieve things without letting the rest of the country know. He faced great pressure, and had to do things like Watergate if he wanted to stay afloat.

  1. I agree with you, Watergate was an unfortunate consequence of Nixon's lack of self confidence.

  2. I agree with you that the pressures of the office of the president, had an influence on Nixon. But I believe the true reason for Watergate can be explained by Nixon's own personalty.

  3. I agree with all of you. The Watergate could have been prevented. However it was not. Was Nixion involved fully in the scandal? In my opinion yes. Unfortunately politicans cannot always be trusted.
