Columbus in America
It is extremely difficult to look at what happened to the Native Americans at Guanahani after the arrival of Christopher Columbus and believe that what occurred there was beneficial. But was it? Yes, it was the start of something new that would benefit the world as a whole, and things are achieved by conquering and keeping times up to date.
But how Christopher Columbus chose to achieve these goals was un- called for, and actually made his job more difficult. He could have worked with the Natives, and learned more about the land and what was necessary to benefiting from it in the best way possible. But instead he chose to over whelm the Natives, taking more than what was needed, making a first assumption that they were no where near equals, and taking out a large amount of their civilization with Plague.
How Columbus treated Native Americans in Guanahani was un- human like, and un- intelligent, but along the way he did lay a solid foundation that would benefit future colonizers, and is some what responsible for where we are today. Although his achievements don’t overcome his demerits, Columbus’s Arrival in the new world was a substantial advance in Civilization.

I do agree with Cooper, if the Europeans had tried to create a relationship with the Native Americans it may have made the transition to the new land an easier process. However, I also think that sometimes small groups of people need to be conqured in order to flourish.
